The technique of inserting compressed fertilizer pellets for rice plants is a method of inserting pre-pressed fertilizer pellets from 3 types of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium fertilizers in an appropriate ratio into the soil to create a food reserve for the plants throughout the growth process. This technique allows farmers to only need to fertilize once for the entire crop, limiting losses due to leaching, evaporation, reducing dependence on weather and especially helping to increase rice yield.
In Ia Pa district, the pellet fertilizer technique under the GLIMER Project was implemented from the 2024 crop season in 5 communes of Ia Mrôn, Ia Trok, Ia Tul, Kim Tân and Po To on an area of 10 hectares. To date, the project has been expanded to 9 communes in the district with 300 participating households.

Now there is a fertilizer pushing machine that helps people save a lot of time and effort compared to the previous method of pushing fertilizer by hand. Through evaluation, the technique of pushing compressed fertilizer pellets helps farmers save up to 20% on input costs while still increasing rice productivity by 15-20%.
At the workshop, delegates visited the actual model of using mechanical fertilizer pushing tools combined with rice sowing in the fields of Ia Tul commune and the process of producing compressed fertilizer pellets at the Qua Cuc facility (Ia Trok commune).
Through the workshop, delegates expressed their hope that the project would continue to be implemented to create a breakthrough in rice production, towards green and sustainable agriculture .
