Chairman of An Giang Farmers' Association Le Phuoc Dung presented Certificates of Merit to the Central Executive Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Association to the collectives.
In recent times, the An Giang Farmers' Association has had many practical ways to promote the strength of the association, mobilize resources to effectively carry out social security work, and gradually improve the lives of farmer members. Notably, 12,028 gifts (worth over 3 billion VND) were mobilized to be presented to poor and disadvantaged farmer members. The association also visited former leaders of the association through the periods on the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2025; handed over 3 "Farmer's Warm House" houses; coordinated the implementation of the campaign "Vietnamese people prioritize using Vietnamese goods" with 1,662 meetings, attracting 43,768 participants; coordinated to bring goods to rural areas through holidays, Tet, and fairs, attracting over 98,000 visitors and shoppers.
Right from the beginning of the year, the Provincial Farmers' Association Standing Committee has developed a plan and provided specific instructions to launch the movement "Farmers compete in good production and business, unite to help each other get rich and reduce poverty sustainably". As a result, 56,581 farming households registered (reaching 60.2% of the target), creating a strong spread in the movement, contributing to the restructuring of agriculture , building new rural areas and increasing income for members.
Farmers' Associations at all levels have promoted the tradition of solidarity, "mutual love", helping households to escape poverty through many forms (capital support, seedlings, technical guidance). Thanks to that, 298 member households have escaped poverty, contributing to the local Party Committee and government in taking care of housing, improving the material and spiritual life of members and farmers. In addition, the work of training and improving the qualifications and skills of cadres and members has also been focused on, with more than 264 excellent farmers, good farmers in production and business at district level and above being trained.
In the coming time, the An Giang Farmers' Association will urgently and seriously implement the reorganization of the apparatus according to the direction of the Central Association and the guidance of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province. At the same time, review, adjust, supplement, and build new operating regulations, internal regulations and procedures in accordance with new policies and regulations. The Association will also focus on building and developing the organization according to a new model, promoting innovation in content and methods of operation to improve quality and efficiency.
Patriotic emulation campaigns and movements will continue to be directed and effectively implemented, especially the movements "Farmers compete in good production and business, unite to help each other get rich and sustainably reduce poverty", "Cadres and farmer members actively participate in collective economic development", "The whole country joins hands to build new rural areas"...
On this occasion, the Central Executive Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Union awarded Certificates of Merit to 6 collectives with outstanding achievements in the association's work and farmers' movement in 2023 - 2024.
