The swimming safety training class and anti-drowning skills took place over 20 days (from July 1 to July 21) at the military swimming pool in Dong An Hai village, Ly Son special zone. The swimming class attracted more than 70 children, aged 8 to 15.

Within the framework of the course, the children were instructed by the 126th Navy Special Forces soldiers on basic frog swimming skills, how to control breathing, anti-drowning skills... to handle incidents while swimming; practice the skills of using life buoys to save drowning when necessary; learn the basic principles to prevent accidents such as: do not swim in deep water, strong currents, do not swim without adult supervision...

Bui Chi Thanh (7 years old), a member of the swimming class, said that this was the second time he had participated in a swimming class with the Navy Seals. "Thanks to their instruction, my friends and I not only learned how to swim but also learned many important skills to prevent drowning. I will try to teach the first-time students to master the skills and stay safe in the water," Thanh shared.

This is the first time Truong Xuan Phuc (8 years old) has joined the class, so he is not as bold as Bui Chi Thanh. Phuc said: "I am very excited because this is the first time I have learned to swim. I hope I can swim well so that I am not afraid when I go into the water."

According to information from Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong Ngoc, President of the Women's Union of Ly Son Special Zone, this is the third year that the Union has coordinated with the Youth Union of the 126th Naval Special Brigade to organize swimming classes for children.

"This is a very meaningful activity, because in addition to providing swimming skills, the Navy Special Forces also instruct children in first aid skills, knowledge of drowning prevention and how to handle situations when rescuing others. The goal of the program is to help reduce the risk of drowning for children in Ly Son special zone, contributing to ensuring a safe life for children on the island," emphasized the President of the Women's Union of Ly Son special zone.
