On September 11, regarding the issue of students' Tet holiday, Mr. Ho Tan Minh, Chief of Office of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City, said that the school year schedule of the Ministry of Education and Training clearly stipulates that it starts from September 5 and ends on May 31, ensuring 35 weeks of actual teaching.
Mr. Minh said that the 2026 Lunar New Year holiday must wait for the document of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee. However, schools can proactively arrange their plans as long as they ensure enough actual study weeks according to regulations.

"According to the Department of Education and Training's schedule, students will have about 2 weeks off for Tet," said Mr. Minh.
In previous years, the Department of Education and Training had a tentative schedule but then changed it at the last minute. Therefore, this year, like other localities, within the school year time frame, the Tet holiday schedule will follow the regulations.
The Chief of Office of the Department of Education and Training said that schools can be flexible in arranging vacation and teaching schedules, based on Circular 05/2025 on working hours.
Tet holidays should be arranged so that students have a break on the weekend and start again at the beginning of the week, ensuring exactly 35 weeks of actual study. Schools should take this into account when implementing to proactively develop appropriate plans.
