Of which, 7 schools in area 1 (old Ho Chi Minh City) are teaching Japanese including: Le Quy Don Secondary School, Hai Ba Trung (Xuan Hoa ward), Vo Truong Toan (Saigon ward) and Le Quy Don High School, Marie Curie (Xuan Hoa ward), Trung Vuong (Saigon ward), Le Hong Phong Specialized High School (Cho Lon ward).
4 Japanese language schools in area 2 (old Binh Duong ), including: Binh Thang Secondary School (Dong Hoa ward), Nguyen Van Tiet (Lai Thieu ward); Di An High School (Di An ward), Hung Vuong specialized school (Thu Dau Mot ward).
7 schools in area 3 (old Ba Ria - Vung Tau ), including: Chau Thanh High School, Ba Ria (Ba Ria ward), Phu My (Phu My ward), Dinh Tien Hoang (Vung Tau ward), Nguyen Hue (Rach Dua ward), Vung Tau (Tam Thang ward) and Le Quy Don High School for the Gifted (Phuoc Thang ward).
Accordingly, Japanese language teachers (Japanese) will support the teaching of Japanese at schools that implement Japanese language teaching. The 7 teachers mentioned above will assist and co-teach with Vietnamese teachers who are officially teaching Japanese in 18 educational institutions. All funding will be covered by the Japanese side, and educational institutions will coordinate with Japanese teachers to teach Japanese according to the school's program, aiming to improve students' ability standards.
The 2025-2026 school year is the 12th year that Ho Chi Minh City students have been supported to learn Japanese under the Japanese Language Associate Program organized by the Japan Foundation Center for Cultural Exchange in Vietnam (Japan International Exchange Fund) in coordination with the Embassy of Japan in Vietnam and the Consulate General of Japan to support Vietnamese students.
