At Le Thi Cam Le Secondary School ( Bac Lieu Ward), Principal Phan Thanh Trung said that this school year the school has 1,174 students, of which more than 100 are disadvantaged. The exemption of tuition fees has reduced financial pressure, helped parents feel secure, and created conditions for students to attend class more regularly.

“Every year, the school has to mobilize the school's benefactors to support the students. Now, with the exemption of tuition fees, it has reduced the burden on parents as well as created better conditions for students to go to school,” Mr. Trung shared.

Quach Hai Son, an 8th grader, said his family was very poor, his father was a construction worker, his mother sold noodles, and he had three siblings going to school, one of whom was in 1st grade. Thanks to the tuition exemption policy, his family was able to save a significant amount of money at the beginning of the school year. Sharing the same joy, Pham Khanh Minh, a 12th grader at Ca Mau High School, shared: he and his friends were all excited that this school year tuition fees were exempted, reducing financial pressure on the family and opening up more learning opportunities; he himself planned to use the money he saved to invest in gifted subjects such as singing and playing musical instruments for comprehensive development.

Not only students, parents are also excited. Mrs. Duong Thi Doi, Ninh Thanh Loi commune, calculated: "Shoes, clothes, books and notebooks also cost more than a million. Now hearing that tuition is free, my family feels less worried and less burdened at the beginning of the school year."

Ensuring learning opportunities for every child

Dr. Dang Tri Thu, Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training of Ca Mau province, affirmed that the tuition exemption policy from the 2025-2026 school year is a major policy of the Party and State, demonstrating the superiority of the regime and receiving high consensus from the people. This policy helps reduce the financial burden on poor families, creating conditions for students to continue going to school, thereby increasing the attendance rate, encouraging higher education, and contributing to training quality human resources for the province.

Exemption from tuition fees also promotes equality in access to education, removes cost barriers, reduces the risk of dropping out of school due to economic reasons, and creates opportunities for students to study more gifted subjects and develop comprehensively. With the spirit of “leaving no one behind”, this policy clearly demonstrates the political responsibility and determination of the Party and State in caring for the young generation – the future of the country.
