Nearly 800 million VND was awarded to the soldiers and people of Nam Du and Hon Doc islands.

At Nam Du Island (Kien Hai Special Zone), the delegation offered incense at the Memorial Monument for the victims of Storm No. 5 in 1997; visited and worked with Radar Station 600 (Regiment 551, Naval Region 5).

The Ho Chi Minh City delegation, led by Comrade Le Hoang Hai - Member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Deputy Head of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee - visited and encouraged cadres, soldiers and people; acknowledged the spirit of overcoming difficulties, steadfastly staying at the forefront, and excellently completing the task of protecting the sovereignty of the sea and islands.

On this occasion, the delegation presented many practical gifts with a total value of nearly 800 million VND. Of which: 8 forces on Nam Du Island received 41 million VND; Radar Station 600 received gifts worth 49 million VND, the "Rooftop Vegetable Garden" project received 400 million VND, the "Improving the quality of propaganda" project received 50 million VND; 12 policy households received gifts, each worth 2 million VND, along with 10 gifts for children.

Ms. Vo Thi Huong, a resident of Nam Du Island, emotionally shared: “We are very happy to welcome the delegation from Ho Chi Minh City. The gifts from the people of Ho Chi Minh City and the Navy help us to be more confident in sticking to the sea and the island to protect our homeland.”

In the afternoon of the same day, the delegation visited Hon Doc Island. Here, artists and delegates organized a cultural and artistic exchange program with local officers, soldiers and people. Many singing and dancing performances about the homeland, the sea and islands and national pride brought a lively and warm atmosphere, strengthening the relationship between the army and the people on the remote island.
