Lai Chau: Summary of Independence Day 2025

Accordingly, the Independence Day Program, Cultural and Sports Festival of Than Uyen Commune held from August 30 to September 2, 2025 was a great success, ensuring absolute safety in all aspects; completing the proposed contents, attracting attention, leaving an impression on the people and tourists. From August 30 to September 2, 2025, the total number of tourists reached 65,162, of which 4,290 were overnight guests. Some places had an increase in the number of tourists compared to the event on September 2, 2024 such as Khoen On Night Market, Muong Kim Market. Total revenue from tourists is estimated at 25,126 million VND.

The activities within the framework of the event were organized solemnly, rich in humanity, and exploited the cultural identity of the ethnic groups. During the events, security and order, environmental sanitation were ensured, and the reception work was carried out thoughtfully, with a spirit of hospitality.

The coordination between the People's Committees of communes and departments, branches and localities was close and smooth, ensuring smooth and effective direction and operation. The participating units were generally responsible, serious, creative, on schedule and achieved practical results, contributing to the success of the event.

In organizing the 2025 Independence Day Program, Than Uyen commune has focused on propaganda, mobilization and expanding the participation of neighboring communes in neighboring provinces. Thanks to good coordination, the program has attracted many groups of artisans, mass actors, art troupes, sports clubs, and booths displaying typical products of neighboring localities. The participation of neighboring communes not only contributes to enriching and diversifying the cultural colors in the series of activities, but also demonstrates the solidarity and close ties between neighboring communes, contributing significantly to the overall success of the 2025 Independence Day Program in Than Uyen commune.

Concluding the Conference, Comrade Tong Thanh Hai - Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Organizing Committee of Independence Day 2025 highly appreciated the efforts and active implementation and organization of Independence Day 2025 activities of units and localities. At the same time, he emphasized: Independence Day 2025 has connected the community, government with the people, introduced the potential advantages of the locality, promoted the socio -economic growth of the locality and the province; impressed tourists with the spirit of hospitality, friendliness, spreading the image, people, potential, advantages, and local culture to tourists from all over.

The Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to soon plan to organize the Independence Day in 2026, not only with the participation of the communes of Than Uyen, Muong Kim, Khoen On, Muong Than but also with the participation of communes in the province, ensuring harmony and conformity with the specific plan roadmap. In particular, clearly defining the responsibilities of the communes in implementing the organization, promoting the leadership and direction of the Secretaries and Chairmen of the People's Committees of the communes; activities must have a chain of activities to ensure connection and interaction with each other, with Than Uyen as the center, neighboring communes as satellites for the chain of activities... to attract tourists, promote local socio-economic development. The communes continue to prepare facilities to attract more tourists, creating a spread to a large number of people inside and outside the province to come to the Independence Day in the following years.
