Ho Chi Minh City delegation sets off to visit the Southwest islands

Coming to see off the delegation were comrades: Nguyen Phuoc Loc, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City; Dang Minh Thong, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee of Ho Chi Minh City; Duong Anh Duc, Member of the Standing Committee, Head of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Committee of the City Party Committee of Ho Chi Minh City; Truong Thi Bich Hanh, Member of the Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, along with leaders of the Navy and officers and soldiers of Brigade 125, Naval Region 2.

At the second meeting of the delegation held on the afternoon of September 7, units, enterprises, groups and delegates signed a competition agreement. Also at the program, units registered to support the Fund "For the homeland's sea and islands, for the frontline of the Fatherland" and jointly carried out projects, taking care of officers, soldiers and people on the islands in the Southwest sea and the DKI platform, with a total cost of more than 960 million VND.

In recent years, the Party Committee, government and people of Ho Chi Minh City have carried out many meaningful and practical activities towards the homeland's sea and islands, the frontline of the Fatherland, such as supporting funds and contributing to the Fund "For the homeland's sea and islands, for the frontline of the Fatherland", the program "For Green Truong Sa", "Warm home for soldiers", "Poor people in the border", "Fresh water in the border area", "Light in the border area"...

These meaningful activities have affirmed the affection, responsibility and trust of the people of Ho Chi Minh City towards the sea and islands, and are a great source of encouragement for cadres, soldiers and people on the islands and special zones to live and work with peace of mind.

This is the first delegation of Ho Chi Minh City to visit officers and soldiers of Region 2, Region 5, people and forces on islands in the Southwest sea, DKI/10 Platform after the merger of Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Duong Province and Ba Ria - Vung Tau Province, to practically welcome the first Ho Chi Minh City Party Congress.

During this working trip, the delegation will have many meaningful activities with the leaders of the Navy, the Command of Region 2, Region 5 and officers and soldiers on duty on the ship HQ 561 Khanh Hoa 01; visit and present gifts to officers, soldiers and people on the islands and platforms...

The members of the delegation will also participate in many activities such as: writing contest, theme Southwest in my heart; contest to learn about Vietnam's sea and islands, cultural exchange, chess contest, flower arrangement contest, photography contest, making handmade gifts; participating in activities of the movement "For the sea and islands of the homeland - For the frontline of the Fatherland" organized by the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City.

According to the plan, the delegation will visit and present gifts to officers, soldiers and people on DK1/10 platform; Hon Khoai, Tho Chu, Hon Chuoi, Nam Du, Hon Doc, Phu Quoc and Con Dao. The working trip is expected to end on September 15.

Before departure, the delegation offered incense and flowers to commemorate the heroic martyrs at the monument of the Ships without numbers, port of the 125th Naval Brigade (Cat Lai ward, Ho Chi Minh City).
