Accordingly, Song Sao Lake - the largest reservoir in Western Nghe An, currently irrigating over 6,000 hectares of agricultural land in Thai Hoa town and Nghia Dan district (old), has discharged water through 1-2 spillways with a flow rate ranging from 25 to 368m³/s.

As of 8:00 a.m. on July 22, the lake's water level reached 75.25 meters, equivalent to about 47 million m3/51 million m3 of water. Flood discharge will be maintained until the rain ends, after which the lake will close the spillway to stabilize the water level.
Mr. Hoang Tran Lam - Chairman of the Board of Directors of Phu Quy Irrigation Company Limited said that during the spillway discharge, the water in the stream section of Khe To bridge may rise, causing flooding at some spillways across the road. The unit has coordinated to widely notify the authorities and people in the downstream area to proactively respond, ensuring the safety of life and property.
