Russian national airline opens new route to Khanh Hoa from September 5

Russian national airline Aeroflot has just announced that it will launch a direct flight route from Irkutsk to Cam Ranh (Khanh Hoa) from September 5 with a frequency of 2 flights/week. According to the airline's plan, the frequency of operations on the Irkutsk - Cam Ranh route will be increased to 3 flights/week from October 6 and may be increased to 4 flights/week from October 29. This is Aeroflot's second route to Khanh Hoa, after the Moscow - Cam Ranh route opened in late March 2025.

According to information from the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Russian tourist market is recovering very well in 2025 when direct flights from Russia to Cam Ranh are resumed. It is estimated that in the first 7 months of 2025, Khanh Hoa welcomed 220,640 Russian visitors, an increase of 269.6% over the same period in 2024. Currently, there are about 30 flights per week from Russian cities to Cam Ranh. Of which, 26 are charter flights operated by Ikar Airlines, IrAero Airlines, Vietjet Air, Azur Air, RedWings, and 4 are commercial flights operated by Aeroflot.

According to the announcement of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism , in the first 7 months of 2025, Vietnam welcomed 315,138 Russian visitors, an increase of 156% over the same period last year. With this growth, Russia is now in the top 10 largest sources of international visitors to Vietnam tourism.
