“The incident is under investigation and further details are being reviewed,” the IDF said in a statement. “The IDF spokesperson expressed deep regret over the incident.” There have been no specific reports of casualties following the incident.
The Egyptian military post is located in the Kerem Shalom area, near the Israel-Egypt border and in the southern Gaza Strip. The incident occurred amid fierce fighting between the Israeli army and the Hamas movement in the Gaza Strip, which is showing signs of spreading.
In a development related to the war between Israel and Hamas, Israeli President Isaac Herzog announced on October 22 that Hamas militants had brought with them instructions on how to make chemical weapons in the surprise attack on Israeli territory on October 7.

This is a shocking situation where we found documents that instruct how to operate and manufacture an amateur chemical weapon using cyanide.”
According to President Herzog, the Israeli army is said to have discovered documents on the bodies of Hamas militants in the Be'eri settlement in southern Israel.
