Hanoi in March sings the song of the changing seasons, every street corner, every road seems to put on new, gentle, pure and innocent clothes.

If each flower season in Hanoi usually only has its own characteristics, such as lotus in May or daisies in November, then with the flower season in March we can feel it with all our senses: from the lingering scent of grapefruit, the pure white of sua flowers, the purple of ban flowers, the burning of kapok flowers to the feeling of joy when seeing trumpet flowers on the street.

Different from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, the gentleness of flowers in bloom such as Bauhinia, Sua, and Kapok flowers... is bringing many special emotions to those who love Hanoi.

Many streets in the capital these days are decorated with thousands of pure white Su flowers. The tiny, fragile and pure flowers blooming make Hanoi suddenly bright and romantic...

This typical flower of the Northwest appeared in Hanoi in the 1960s, initially planted experimentally on some streets, parks and Hoan Kiem Lake. The flower usually blooms from the end of February, lasting about a month. Each flower has 4-5 petals, pink stamens, purple veins and is sweet. This flower is also the main ingredient in the Thai ethnic group's Ban flower salad.

In the March sky, the appearance of lilies on the streets becomes a beautiful highlight for the changing season picture of Hanoi. Not brilliant nor having a special fragrance, lilies still captivate many people, even foreign tourists.



Many Hanoians and travelers from far away have fallen in love with the grapefruit blossom season in March. Grapefruit blossoms have a rustic, simple appearance but possess a pure, elegant beauty and always make many people fall in love with their gentle, pure fragrance.

When the flower season comes, the whole grapefruit garden has a chance to put on a new coat, full of bright flower clusters, brightening up a corner of Hanoi sky. Grapefruit flowers also weave through every alley on small bicycles, and the street vendors of the people spread their fragrance everywhere.
