E.Chess Open: A new and exciting playground

The 2025 E.Chess Open Cup is organized in two formats, online and in person, and is a new and attractive playground for chess players.

The Vietnam Chess Federation has just joined hands withFPT Play to launch the E.Chess Open Chess Tournament, the first semi-professional chess tournament in Vietnam to be organized in two combined forms: online and in-person. In which, the group stage will take place online through professional online competition platforms, combined in person at 4 locations and the final round is expected to take place in person at the My Dinh Indoor Athletics Stadium (Hanoi).

The E.Chess Open 2025 is scheduled to start at the end of September with 7 groups, including the Open group (regardless of age) and groups from U.6 to U.11. Mr. Nguyen Minh Thang, Vice President and General Secretary of the Vietnam Chess Federation, said that the form of online chess has appeared for a long time and exploded during the time affected by the Covid-19 epidemic. Currently, online chess tournaments are still maintained and growing. The E.Chess Open 2025 opens a new direction for chess in Vietnam, bringing the intellectual sport closer to the audience and finding the next generation of players.
