World gold price today June 7, 2025 and world gold price fluctuation chart in the past 24 hours
According to Kitco, the world gold price recorded at 4:30 p.m. on June 7, Vietnam time, was 3,311.04 USD/ounce. Today's gold price decreased by 46.33 USD/ounce compared to yesterday. Converted according to the USD exchange rate at Vietcombank (26,220 VND/USD), the world gold price is about 108.56 million VND/tael (excluding taxes and fees). Thus, the price of SJC gold bars is 8.64 million VND/tael higher than the international gold price.
The world gold price has just recorded a decline after the US announced an important economic report that did not bring many surprises, even some positive ones. Meanwhile, the silver price has skyrocketed, reaching a 13-year high.
The U.S. Labor Department's May jobs report showed that nonfarm payrolls rose by 139,000, higher than the forecast of 125,000 but lower than the revised 147,000 in April. The unemployment rate was unchanged at 4.2%. Earlier, data from the ADP national employment report had raised concerns among investors about a weakening U.S. labor market. However, the official results showed that the labor market was still stronger than expected.
In addition, news of a “very positive” phone call between US President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping also affected the gold market. The two leaders agreed to resume trade talks, aiming to ease tariff tensions amid global economic uncertainty. This information helped the stock market recover strongly, while reducing demand for gold, which is considered a safe haven in times of high risk.
Another factor affecting gold prices is the movement of investors in ETFs. According to the monthly report from the World Gold Council (WGC), in May, global gold ETFs recorded net capital outflows for the first time in five months. Specifically, about 19.1 tons of gold equivalent to 1.83 billion USD were withdrawn from the funds, of which the majority came from the North American region with about 15.6 tons.
WGC experts said that investor sentiment is wavering due to economic uncertainties and tariff threats. However, they also emphasized that the global economic situation is not stable, especially with the risk of stagflation increasing. This will continue to support gold prices in the medium to long term, although the market may be volatile in the short term.
