Vietnam has identified development based on knowledge, science and technology, innovation and digital transformation as not only a strategic choice, but also an inevitable path to overcome the middle-income trap, improve productivity and competitiveness of the economy towards the goal of becoming a developed country by 2045. Accordingly, Vietnam has issued many important policies and decisions, especially Resolutions No. 57 and 68 of the Politburo on the development of science and technology, innovation, digital transformation and private economic development.
In addition, our country is forming a dynamic and comprehensive innovation ecosystem; with the core being the National Innovation Center, with the participation of the private sector, foreign investors, investment funds, startups, and universities, research institutes...
The Deputy Prime Minister said that in order to promote "outstanding" development and create "qualitative" changes in the field of science and technology, Vietnam understands that it must have the support of international partners, especially technology powerhouses such as Germany and leading corporations such as SAP.
Over the past time, the Vietnam - Germany Strategic Partnership has continued to develop positively and effectively in all fields, most notably the pillars of economics - trade - investment.
The fact that SAP - the world's largest software corporation - chose Vietnam as the second location to set up its R&D center in Southeast Asia (after Singapore) on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of bilateral relations between the two countries shows the special interest of Germany in general and SAP Corporation in particular in Vietnam despite the unpredictable developments in the region and the world.

Early replication of SAP R&D Center model in Vietnam
To effectively promote the SAP R&D Center, contributing to the development of Vietnam and the relationship between the two countries, the Deputy Prime Minister suggested that the Group continue to expand its investment and business in Vietnam in depth, considering Vietnam as an investment "stronghold" in Southeast Asia and Asia.
In addition, pay attention to using and cooperating to develop high-quality human resources in Vietnam, especially human resources in the fields of science and technology, innovation, and digital transformation.
In particular, soon replicate the Group's R&D Center model in Vietnam; establish labs, develop shared research facility models at NIC and institutes and schools in Vietnam. Thereby, turn SAP's R&D Centers into "convergence points" to connect the network of experts and technology talents at home and abroad.
The Deputy Prime Minister also asked the Group to advise Vietnam on solutions to build and perfect the legal framework on science, technology and innovation in accordance with international practices.
