The North-South Expressway project, section through Quang Ngai, must be open to traffic by August 30 at the latest.

On the morning of August 6, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Hoang Giang chaired a working session with units and localities to direct the removal of some difficulties related to the Quang Ngai - Hoai Nhon section project of the North - South expressway construction project in the East, phase 2021 - 2025. The Quang Ngai - Hoai Nhon section of the project is 88km long, of which the section through Quang Ngai province is 60.3km long. Up to now, the main items have been basically completed such as roadbed construction, tunnel No. 1 and tunnel No. 2. Of the total 77 bridges on the route, 70 bridges have had their girders installed and are under bridge deck construction. The project is entering the finishing stage, the remaining work volume is not large.

To ensure progress, contractors have mobilized 3,450 engineers, workers and more than 1,400 machines and equipment. However, the overall progress is still affected by some problems in compensation and site clearance at 7 locations in the overpass and intersection packages...

At the meeting, the authorities of the relevant communes said that they had actively coordinated with the contractor and construction unit to mobilize and explain to the people. Many households agreed and committed not to obstruct the construction work. Particularly in Nguyen Nghiem commune, the authorities have established 2 working groups to completely resolve the remaining problems. To date, 4/5 households with problems have received compensation and committed not to obstruct the construction work.

After working with units and localities, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Hoang Giang inspected the actual construction progress of the expressway section passing through the province.

Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Hoang Giang acknowledged and highly appreciated the sense of responsibility and active coordination between departments, branches, localities and contractors in the past time.

At the same time, he emphasized that the remaining work volume is very small, but he requested that the forces, commune authorities, investors, and contractors continue to promote the spirit of solidarity and high unity, join together to speed up the construction progress, and commit to open the route no later than August 30.

Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Hoang Giang requested the Chairmen of the People's Committees of relevant communes and wards to clearly define common goals, consider this an important political task, focus resources, uphold the sense of responsibility and determination in direction and operation.

In addition, we must be close to the people, strengthen propaganda and mobilization work so that people understand and share. At the same time, we need to publicly and transparently disclose the plan, the extent of damage, compensation and have a specific commitment with the people to create consensus and support. Localities must promptly support the construction unit to complete the project on schedule according to the requirements of the Government, the Prime Minister and the province.

Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Hoang Giang requested units to report daily progress to the Provincial People's Committee to promptly direct the removal of difficulties and obstacles when exceeding authority.
