The national press conference had the participation of a large number of the public and generations of journalists from more than 80 central press agencies and all levels of the Vietnam Journalists Association .
In his opening speech, Mr. Le Quoc Minh, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper and Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists Association, affirmed that the theme of the 2025 National Press Festival is a guideline for journalists to continue their noble mission in the period when the country is striving to enter a new era.
“The press must be the vanguard in spreading good values, promoting patriotism and national unity, contributing to creating a combined strength for our country to increasingly develop and prosper and firmly protect its independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity,” the President of the Vietnam Journalists Association emphasized.
Attending and congratulating the National Press Festival, Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission Nguyen Trong Nghia affirmed that this is an important event with profound political significance, and at the same time, a cultural and professional festival for journalists and the press public nationwide.
The press is truly the voice of the Party and the State, a trusted forum for the people; a strong bridge between the Party's will and the people's hearts; a mirror reflecting the thoughts and aspirations of the whole society; a place to spread humanistic values, promote beauty and rightness, resolutely fight against evil and wrongness; take the lead in protecting the Party's ideological foundation, fight against and refute erroneous and hostile views; and light up the people's faith in the path to socialism led by the Communist Party of Vietnam.
Here, the Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission stated that our Party and State are vigorously implementing the arrangement and streamlining of the apparatus of agencies, units, and localities, including the press system, with the goal of improving efficiency, effectiveness, and efficiency, meeting the requirements of the practical situation, that is: Streamlining to become stronger, merging to become more elite, innovating to maintain the mission of serving the people and accompanying the country.
“Each press agency and journalist must always consciously study and improve their professional knowledge; maintain and promote political will, and be determined to innovate more strongly; increase the application of technology, especially digital transformation and artificial intelligence to change the process of production, distribution and access to press information; take innovation as a driving force and technology as a tool to elevate Vietnamese journalism,” emphasized Nguyen Trong Nghia, Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission.
At the same time, according to comrade Nguyen Trong Nghia, the press needs to boldly innovate from leadership thinking, editorial model, content production and distribution methods to the relationship between the press and the public. The press needs to deepen its role in social criticism, protecting the Party's ideological foundation, promoting solidarity, creating consensus, strongly arousing patriotism, national pride, inspiring and aspirant to contribute, contributing to bringing the country firmly into a new era, an era of wealth, civilization, prosperity, and national development.
After the opening ceremony, delegates visited the booths displaying outstanding publications, exhibitions of press materials, press products applying new technology of press agencies that were widely welcomed by the public and the generation of journalists and expected a vivid development journey from tradition to modernity, from print, electronic, spoken, visual to multi-platform press, from "pen, paper" to "artificial intelligence and big data".
At the exhibition booth of the Ho Chi Minh City Journalists Association, special publications such as “The Land of a Thousand Flowers” on the occasion of the 50th Anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification of the country by Saigon Giai Phong Newspaper, along with other typical publications, created a press space that is both modern and imbued with political identity.
In particular, the activity of giving readers a map of Vietnam 2025 made a strong impression and attracted many generations of the public. With the experience of loyal readers and veteran journalists, Saigon Giai Phong Newspaper and the Ho Chi Minh City Journalists Association promise to continue their mission of serving the people and the Fatherland in the digital age.
