Dong Nai Enterprises Achieve National Brand

At the end of 2024, the Ministry of Industry and Trade announced a list of 190 enterprises with 359 products achieving the Vietnam National Brand in 2024. Dong Nai has 9 enterprises with more than 10 products achieving the national brand. Among them, there are enterprises that have achieved the above title for many consecutive years.

Brand building plays a very important role for businesses in the long-term development process. Because when building a strong brand, businesses will increase their competitiveness in domestic and international markets; at the same time, consumers are willing to spend more money to buy branded products.

National brands help increase business value

In 2003, the Vietnam National Brand Program began to be implemented. The Government assigned the Ministry of Industry and Trade to preside over it with the goal of supporting enterprises in building and developing strong brands for products to promote the image of the country with quality and reputable goods and services. From there, it helps Vietnamese enterprises improve their competitiveness in domestic and foreign markets, contributing to sustainable economic development.

In Dong Nai, there are 9 enterprises achieving the National Brand in 2024 such as: GC Food Joint Stock Company with GC Food aloe vera product; DNP Holding Joint Stock Company with Dongnai Plastics plastic pipe and plastic accessories product; Electrical Equipment Joint Stock Company with THIBIDI distribution transformer product; Vinacafe Bien Hoa Joint Stock Company with 5 products: Vinacafe coffee, Wake-up coffee, filter coffee, Wake-up 247 coffee-flavored energy drink, B'fast nutritional cereal; Thanh Thanh Cong - Bien Hoa Joint Stock Company with 3 sugar products: Mimosa, Tsu, Bien Hoa...

The selection of enterprises achieving national brands is conducted every 2 years and in even years. Enterprises will submit 3 sets of documents for selecting national brand products before March 31 of the selection year to the Ministry of Industry and Trade.

When achieving national brand, enterprises will contribute to the image of the country and also benefit from this value. Specifically, enterprises will increase their prestige and reliability with domestic and foreign customers.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Tam, member of the Board of Directors of GC Food Joint Stock Company with a factory in Trang Bom district, said that GC is currently leading the country in aloe vera production to supply the domestic market and export. The company's products have been exported to more than 20 countries, of which the major markets are Japan, Korea, and Europe. In 2024, the company's aloe vera products will achieve national brand status, helping the company enhance its reputation and value, contributing to promoting Vietnamese agricultural products and increasing exports.

Vietnam participates in deep, fast and wide integration, enterprises that build strong national brands will help maintain competitive advantages in the international market. At the same time, domestic consumers also choose products of branded enterprises more.

According to Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Duong Minh Dung, Dong Nai has many high-quality industrial and agricultural products and has been exported to more than 180 countries and territories. Therefore, enterprises in the province should pay more attention to building national brands.

More national brands needed

To date, Dong Nai has more than 56,000 registered enterprises with a total capital of about 510 trillion VND. However, the province only has 9 enterprises achieving the Vietnam National Brand in 2024. The above number is too small when the province is in the top of the country in industrial production and export. At the same time, the province is the region with the leading development of trade, services, craft villages, and agricultural products in Vietnam. Therefore, each industry needs to build a national brand to increase the value of enterprises and products, and the position of Dong Nai.

Mr. Huynh Tan Phap, Deputy General Director of Thanh Thanh Cong - Bien Hoa Joint Stock Company (a company with Bien Hoa Sugar Factory), said that in addition to being well-consumed in the domestic market, the company's products have been exported to 70 countries and territories and have been trusted and chosen by many consumers. For many years, the company has paid great attention to and invested in building its brand, including a unified corporate image and logo for easy recognition by customers. For example, Bien Hoa Sugar has many different product lines to serve many consumer groups. Therefore, each product will have its own brand and different customers.

In 2024, the value of Vietnam's national brand will reach 507 billion USD, ranking 32nd out of 193 countries and being recognized and highly appreciated by the world.

According to Mr. Phap, nowadays, customers are very interested in the brand of the enterprise, so from production to consumption, it must be transparent, clear, ensuring quality, and traceable so that consumers have the right to choose products that are good for their health. Enterprises producing products must be associated with attractive stories to bring value to the product.

In the process of building a national brand, enterprises must apply modern technology, innovate, and digital transformation to meet the requirements of green and sustainable production. This is a mandatory and vital requirement for enterprises.

In Dong Nai, most of the manufactured goods are for export, so many enterprises are producing in a green and circular direction. Among them, many factories have achieved green and smart factory certification and their products are increasingly chosen by domestic and foreign customers. However, most enterprises focus on production and business without paying attention to registering and completing documents and procedures to be recognized as national brands.

Specifically, the Bien Hoa - Dong Nai ceramic industry is famous domestically and internationally, having directly exported to more than 30 countries and territories. However, there is currently no ceramic enterprise that has achieved the national brand. Similarly, Dong Nai is a center for the production of interior wood, fine art wood, textiles, mushrooms of all kinds, agarwood, etc., but lacks national brands.
