Overseas Vietnamese delegation will participate in the 80th National Day celebration

At a press conference on the afternoon of August 6 in Hanoi, the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said that it is expected that a delegation of overseas Vietnamese will participate in the celebration of the 80th anniversary of Vietnam's National Day.

Chairman of the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Nguyen Trung Kien said that this activity meets the wishes of a large number of overseas Vietnamese who want to directly participate in important events and national festivals; at the same time, it shows gratitude and respect for the role and contributions of overseas Vietnamese in the cause of resistance for national independence and current socio-economic development.

Currently, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is coordinating with relevant agencies to actively prepare and be ready for the organization of a delegation of overseas Vietnamese to participate in the celebration.

Also on this occasion, a training course on teaching Vietnamese for overseas Vietnamese teachers is scheduled to take place from August 13 to 28 in Hanoi and some neighboring localities. The program will incorporate elements of Vietnamese history and traditional culture into the lectures, with the participation of 80 students from 15 countries and territories.

In particular, the award ceremony of the contest to find Vietnamese Ambassadors abroad will take place on August 21 in Hanoi, along with the Gala program "Lovely Vietnamese" with the theme: "The river flows forever connecting all directions". The contest's jury will select the 5 best candidates to be Vietnamese Ambassadors abroad in 2025.

According to the organizers, the contest to find Vietnamese Ambassadors abroad is not only about individuals who are exemplary in using, preserving and spreading the Vietnamese language in the overseas Vietnamese community, but also a cultural bridge, contributing to promoting the image of the country and Vietnamese people to the world.

Along with that, the Vietnamese Language Honor Day in the Overseas Vietnamese Community in 2025 will take place on August 14, in Hanoi, in a combination of in-person and online formats.

The State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese will also organize a training course for leaders of overseas Vietnamese associations and delegations from August 28 to 31 in Hanoi. The program will provide some information about the domestic situation; foreign policies of the Party and State; legal issues of Vietnam and other countries...
