Ho Chi Minh City delegation visited and presented gifts to officers, soldiers and people of Con Dao

The Ho Chi Minh City delegation visited Con Dao to pay tribute to its heroic history and encourage the forces that are working day and night to protect the sovereignty of the country's sea and islands.

On September 9, after a journey of more than 110 nautical miles from the 125th Brigade's Military Port, the Ho Chi Minh City delegation arrived in Con Dao, the first stop on the voyage to visit and encourage officers and soldiers of Naval Region 2, Naval Region 5, DK1/10 platform and people on the islands in the Southwest of the Fatherland.

This working trip to Con Dao Special Zone was attended by Mr. Nguyen Phuoc Loc, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City; Mr. Dang Minh Thong, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee of Ho Chi Minh City; Ms. Truong Thi Bich Hanh, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City.

On this occasion, the delegation of the Party Committee, government and people of Ho Chi Minh City presented money and many practical gifts such as machinery, equipment, vehicles and daily necessities to 21 armed forces and people on the island. In addition, the delegation presented Great Solidarity houses to three households with a total value of 192 million VND and presented gifts to 20 poor students who have overcome difficulties.

In particular, the delegation also handed over the Swimming Pool project for military training at the Command of Region 2 with a total value of 1.5 billion VND, contributing to improving the effectiveness of training and physical training for officers and soldiers. The total budget for activities during this working trip was more than 2 billion VND.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Le Hoang Hai, Member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Deputy Head of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, emphasized that Con Dao is a sacred land, rich in tradition, and at the same time the only special economic zone of Ho Chi Minh City from July 1, 2025 with great potential for marine economy , eco-tourism, culture - history. He expressed his belief and hope that the officers and soldiers will hold their guns firmly, contributing to building Con Dao into a bright spot for sustainable development.

The working trip demonstrates Ho Chi Minh City's affection and responsibility for the frontline, adding motivation for the forces to complete the task of protecting the sacred sovereignty of the sea and islands.
