Currently, the province has 2,233 women's union branches and groups, with more than 210,000 members. In the past 8 months, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Women's Union has issued a plan and deployed the working theme for 2025. Maintaining the emulation movement "Building Vietnamese women of the new era" associated with building Son La women "united, compassionate, friendly, creative, aspiring to rise up"; the campaign "Building a family of 5 no, 3 clean". Unions at all levels have carried out social security activities such as: Giving 1,413 gifts to poor women and children; mobilizing 2,139 workers to participate in the peak period "Joining hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses"; supporting funding for 333 orphans in the "Godmother" program. At the same time, maintain the operation of savings and loan groups with banks, savings models at grassroots branches. Support livelihood models for members with a total value of over 100 million VND...
For Project 8 “Implementing gender equality and solving urgent issues for women and children” under the National Target Program on socio -economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas, in 2025, the Provincial Women's Union was assigned 7.4 billion VND, of which 1.4 billion VND was allocated to the provincial level, the rest was allocated to the district (old) and commune levels. After 8 months, the whole province has completed 8/9 main criteria of the Project, notably improving the capacity of ethnic minority female cadres to participate in leadership; building the model of “Leadership Club of Change”; establishing a trusted community address to support the protection of women and children affected by domestic violence.
At the meeting, the Provincial Women's Union proposed that the Central Working Group of the Union issue unified national guidelines on decentralization of management of union operating funds; clearly stipulate the allocation and settlement of capital for Project 8 after the merger at the commune level; and provide specific guidance on the position and duties of the Vice Chairmen of the Provincial, Commune and Ward Women's Unions...
Speaking at the meeting, the Vice President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union requested the Provincial Women's Union to closely follow the direction of the Central Committee and the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, prepare well for the women's congresses at all levels, especially pay attention to the commune-level women's personnel project. At the same time, regularly grasp the situation at the grassroots level, promptly support and remove difficulties. Request the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee to guide and support the commune-level women's unions to have their own accounts, seals and budget codes to serve the union's activities. The comrade also accepted the recommendations of the Provincial Women's Union to report to the Central Committee for consideration and resolution.
On this occasion, the Vice President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union visited and presented gifts to two 55-year-old female Party members, Ms. Lu Thi Pua, Group 8 and Ms. Cap Thi Du, Group 3, To Hieu Ward.
