Tran Island is an outpost island of the Northeast sea of the country belonging to Co To Special Zone (Quang Ninh), which has an important position for national defense, security and sovereignty over the sea and islands. This is also the farthest island from the mainland of Quang Ninh province. In the 2025-2026 school year, Tran Island school (Thanh Lan Kindergarten - Primary School) has 8 students, including 7 primary school students and 1 preschooler. These days, people, officers, soldiers and teachers are rushing to clean up, ready for the opening ceremony on the morning of September 5. The children's play area is clean. To prepare for the new school year, the three teachers in charge braved the waves by boat to the island many days ago, bringing with them books, school supplies, and excitement for the opening day. This school year, Ms. Pham Thi Hoa and Ms. Le Thi Mai Linh, two volunteer teachers who went to the island, brought their sons, one in grade 3 and the other in grade 5, to study with their classmates on the island. This not only helps the students make more friends, but also demonstrates the teachers' attachment and willingness to sacrifice for the cause of spreading knowledge at the forefront. "I brought my son to the island to study so that he could be close to his mother, conveniently tutoring him in his studies, and at the same time help him experience life on the island, help him practice independence, know how to share difficulties and love the frontier land of the Fatherland more," said Ms. Linh (a teacher of combined classes, grades 4 and 5). When she and her colleagues went to Tran Island to take up the teaching assignment for the 2025-2026 school year, teacher Pham Thi Hoa (a teacher of combined classes, grades 1 and 3) was moved by the help she received and clearly felt the solidarity and closeness between the people and the army on the island. “As soon as we set foot on the island, we received the attention and enthusiastic help of the people and the armed forces. From support in transporting supplies, arranging accommodation, to working together to clean up the school, everything made us feel close and secure in teaching,” Ms. Hoa shared. Ms. Linh was happy to come to Tran Island school. Officers and soldiers on the island clean up the school. The bonsai is trimmed.
