Accordingly, in the 2025-2026 school year, Lam Dong Education and Training Department needs 42,892 teachers to ensure teaching requirements. However, the current number of teachers is 37,459, a shortage of 5,433 people.

It is worth mentioning that the shortage is concentrated in specific subjects of the 2018 General Education Program such as Music, Fine Arts, Local Education, Experiential Activities - Career Guidance... while some other subjects have local surplus.

To overcome this, the Department of Education and Training allowed schools to contract 3,094 teachers, of which 2,262 were not recruited and 832 were under contracts according to Decree 111/2022/ND-CP. However, the whole province still lacked 2,339 teachers.

After reviewing, Lam Dong Education Department proposed to add 4,169 teacher positions in the 2025-2026 school year and 4,834 positions in the 2030-2031 school year, prioritizing preschool, primary school and specific subjects that are in shortage.

Along with that, the Department of Education and Training also identified that regular training and education for staff is a key task to meet the requirements of educational innovation.

After the merger, Lam Dong province has 1,605 educational institutions (1,462 public, 143 non-public) with more than 806,500 students. The direct teaching staff is 37,459 people, out of a total of 46,617 cadres, teachers and employees in the whole sector.
