Talent Rendezvous: A Stepping Stone to Shine

The fifth episode of Talent Rendezvous has the theme of Turning Point. This is also the first live show night where the contestants perform live on stage with bands, dance troupes, and backing groups in front of a studio audience and a small screen audience. Musician Huy Tuan, a member of the jury, commented: “Live television does not give us the opportunity to do it again. It is not only stressful for the contestants, but also for the judges.” This requires the contestants to not only calculate smart and reasonable tactics in choosing songs, but also to demonstrate their stage presence from their singing voice to their performance style. At this time, the contestants’ strengths and weaknesses will also be clearly revealed.

Talent Rendezvous easily reminds the audience of a famous and very successful music competition in the past - Sao Mai Rendezvous, also organized by Vietnam Television. There, contestants had to go through a rigorous selection process before performing nights that required flexible improvisation and rich variations according to each theme. This time, Talent Rendezvous had 1,000 contestants participating in the casting. Before entering the first live show and elimination round, the contestants had 4 intense competition nights.

In terms of expertise, Talent Rendezvous gathers contestants with both appearance and singing advantages, including a few factors that are familiar to the audience. Many contestants possess beautiful voices, maintaining a stable performance but not lacking in surprises and innovation. Although there are faces that stand out from the first competition night, like the common ground of many music competition programs today, there are no "phenomena" that are strong enough to cause a "storm" in the media and maintain the heat. This is also a reality, when "hunting" for talent is always the biggest challenge.

However, the program still ensures a high level of expertise, demonstrated through the contestants' efforts with diverse topics and strict requirements from the judges themselves. For example, in the night of the live show "Buc Chuong", many times the three judges: musician Huy Tuan, singer Ngoc Ha, singer Truc Nhan gave frank comments on each contestant's performance. This helps the contestants clearly recognize their strengths and weaknesses to be alert in each choice and each performance. In addition, the stage setting is also a highlight that brings both explosive and emotional performances. For young faces, having the opportunity to step onto the professional stage is an important and necessary stepping stone on the path to professional art in the future.

The final and award ceremony of the Talent Rendezvous program will be broadcast live on VTV3 on the evening of June 29.
