Regarding the policy of converting public passenger transport vehicles to electric buses, green energy and assessing the progress of some green conversion tasks in the transport sector, the Office of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee has just issued a document conveying the direction of Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Bui Xuan Cuong requesting the Department of Construction to coordinate in reviewing projects related to emission control, propose solutions and a roadmap for bidding to convert electric buses, build charging stations, and complete before August 15.
At the same time, complete the Vehicle Emission Control Project (Phase 1), advise on the roadmap and policies to support the conversion of electric buses; at the same time, urgently implement Phase 2 for other means of transport, to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2025. At the same time, develop management policies such as norms and unit prices for electric buses, an interconnected electronic ticket system; implement a green transport theme in Con Dao and Can Gio in September 2025.
Regarding the Project to convert two-wheeled vehicles of technology drivers and delivery drivers to electric vehicles proposed by the Ho Chi Minh City Institute for Development Studies, the Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee assigned the institute to urgently organize a workshop to collect expert opinions and complete a report to submit to the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee in September.
