Taking advantage of the dry weather, the construction unit of the embankment project to prevent landslides on the left bank of the Ba River combined with urban infrastructure development through Vinh Phu village increased the number of motorbikes and equipment to speed up the construction progress.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Lai, Deputy General Director of Thanh Trung Joint Stock Company, representative of the construction unit, said that the embankment project to prevent landslides on the left bank of the Ba River combined with urban infrastructure development through Vinh Phu village has a length of about 3,328 m, combined with urban infrastructure development with an area of about 89.17 hectares. The construction of the river embankment has more specific features than other projects because there are many underwater items. The construction plan at the construction site is calculated and distributed reasonably, especially during the upcoming unusual rainy and stormy season. Currently, the contractor has gathered about 30 motorbikes, equipment and dozens of workers to carry out the project of pouring rock to the embankment foot, reinforced concrete embankment walls, leveling the ground, and constructing the drainage system of DT2 road. The unit strives to basically complete the lower part to ensure the safety of the project during the rainy and stormy season.

The construction unit focused on completing the lower part of the embankment project to prevent landslides on the left bank of the Ba River, combined with developing urban infrastructure through Vinh Phu village.

Safe flood crossing is also the commitment of the investor and contractor to carry out the construction project of some sections of the embankment to prevent erosion on the right bank of Ban Thach River combined with the traffic road, from Ban Thach Bridge to Ben Lon Bridge. On the 2,100 m long construction route, the construction atmosphere is bustling day and night. The contractor is organizing 3 construction teams, having completed 1,100 m. Currently, there is still a section of embankment in the middle of the route, the construction unit is continuously working overtime to strive to complete the embankment body and 3 drainage culverts. When the entire embankment foot is completed, the units will focus on constructing the entire embankment body and the traffic road along the embankment. The entire project is expected to be completed this year.

The emergency treatment project to overcome the An My - An Chan coastal landslide was started in June this year, with an investment of about 200 billion VND with the goal of ensuring safety for the coastal area that is often threatened by high tides, affecting the lives of people as well as the infrastructure works inside. The construction unit is gathering equipment and materials, casting construction components; implementing foundation digging, pouring boulders at the foot of the embankment, and releasing bamboo rafts.

"The investor has requested contractors to proactively equip themselves with adequate means, equipment, and materials to handle emergency situations during storms. Contractors strictly control entry and exit to the construction site, and evacuate people and equipment from dangerous areas when necessary."

Mr. Dang Khoa Dam , Director of the Management Board of Investment and Construction Projects in the Eastern Region of Dak Lak Province

According to the Management Board of Investment and Construction Projects in the Eastern Region of Dak Lak Province, the investor is urging the contractor to speed up the completion of some urgent items to construct the embankment foot; at the same time, closely monitor the progress of the project, requiring the contractor to prepare a flood and storm prevention plan. In which, proactively monitor weather forecasts to have reasonable technical stops.

On the road project from Bai Goc Port connecting National Highway 1 to Van Phong Economic Zone, the construction work is facing many difficulties as the contractor is waiting for the site and is worried about the approaching storm season. The contractor is organized into 5 construction teams in a rolling manner. The main work at present is to fill the roadbed. However, ensuring the safety of the project during the upcoming storm season will be quite difficult because the site is not continuous.

Mr. Doan Huu Thinh, Project Manager (Tan Lap Company Limited) said: “During the storm season last year, many items were damaged by natural disasters. Currently, the contractor regularly monitors local weather forecasts to proactively plan material gathering in case of heavy rain and flooding; especially at drainage construction sites. We will focus on plans to ensure the safety of people and construction works.”
