Construction of an inter-level boarding school in Buon Don commune will begin in October 2025.

Senior Lieutenant General Phung Si Tan, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army and Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thien Van co-chaired the conference.

Buon Don is a border commune with a total natural area of 111,379 hectares, with 1,782 households, of which poor and near-poor households account for 43.72%. Buon Don commune has a total of 2 primary schools, Y Jut Primary School and Vo Thi Sau Secondary School, with 41 classes and 1,155 students, of which ethnic minorities account for more than 87%.

The Central Military Commission Standing Committee has agreed on the policy of supporting the province to build schools for border communes to build a primary and secondary school for rural development.

The project name is Buôn Đôn Primary and Secondary School, built in Thống Nhất village (Buôn Đôn commune); construction is expected to start in October 2025 and be completed before August 30, 2026.

The planned construction area is about 5.8 hectares, including the following items: learning area - head office, dormitory - kitchen, sports - culture, teachers' housing and reserve land. According to the construction scale calculation, the school can accommodate a total of 1,250 students, in the period of 2026 - 2030...

Speaking at the conference, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thien Van expressed his deep gratitude to the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense for their special attention and practical support to the province's difficult areas; affirming that this is not only a school, but also a symbol of military-civilian solidarity, helping ethnic minority children and students in difficult circumstances have the opportunity to study in the best conditions.

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee said that the locality will closely coordinate to ensure the project is implemented on schedule, meets quality standards, and puts the school into operation soon, best serving the students' learning.
