According to the report of Ms. Le Thi Bich Lien, Director of the Department of Education and Training (DET), after the reorganization, Lam Dong province has 5 border communes. These are poor communes with limited infrastructure, and the proportion of ethnic minorities accounts for over 40%.

The number of students dropping out of school is still high due to difficult family conditions, complex terrain, and difficulty in accessing educational facilities.

According to statistics by the end of June 2025, the 5 border communes currently have 47 educational institutions (39 public schools and 5 non-public schools). However, the facilities are still lacking, the teaching staff is not uniform, especially teachers of specific subjects.

In that situation, the establishment of primary and secondary boarding schools is extremely necessary to meet the requirements of educational tasks.

Comrade Le Thi Bich Lien proposed building schools with a scale of about 30 classes, accommodating more than 1,000 students.

The local survey also showed that people are looking forward to having a boarding school for ethnic minorities so that their children can conveniently go to school.

Schools in border areas will implement specific educational programs suitable to regional conditions, support teachers and students, provide adequate teaching and learning equipment, and strengthen national defense and security education.
