On September 11, in Hanoi, the Government Cipher Committee held a ceremony to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Vietnam Cipher Industry's Traditional Day (September 12, 1945 - September 12, 2025) and received the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces.

Speaking at the ceremony, General Phan Van Giang affirmed that after 80 years of building, fighting and growing up, under the leadership of the Party and State, the education and training of President Ho Chi Minh; the management, direction and administration of the Government, the Prime Minister, the Minister of National Defense, the wholehearted help of Party committees at all levels, local authorities and people across the country, generations of cadres, employees and workers of the Vietnamese Cipher industry have well implemented the advice of beloved Uncle Ho: "Cryptography is a secret, important and glorious work... You guys and girls working on cryptography must be secret, united and militarized ".

Proactive, creative, self-reliant, self-reliant, with many achievements and outstanding achievements in the cause of national liberation, building and defending the Fatherland; worthy of being a special, trusted secret force of the Party, State and people.

General Phan Van Giang requested the Vietnam Cryptography Industry and the Government Cryptography Committee to continue to thoroughly grasp and seriously and effectively implement the policies and directions of the Central Committee, the Central Military Commission, and the Minister of National Defense on cryptography and national defense.

Improve the quality of research, strategic advice, perfect institutions, mechanisms and policies on cryptography. Strengthen propaganda, dissemination, raise awareness, promote the role and responsibility of ministries, branches and localities in building and managing cryptographic organizations and teams of cryptographic officers and employees nationwide.

At the same time, research and propose to innovate the method of operation, perfect the state management mechanism on cryptographic work to ensure strictness, synchronization and unity. Coordinate to monitor network information security, manage civil codes. Maintain the national cryptographic system to operate stably, smoothly, confidentially, safely and accurately, promptly serving the leadership, direction and operation of the Party, State and armed forces in all situations.

The head of the Ministry of National Defense also requested to deploy security for information systems, information technology, weapons, military equipment; modern scientific and technological solutions. Improve production capacity, supply products, technical equipment, specialized cryptography services, security solutions, high-tech information security.

At the same time, strengthen cooperation and technology transfer in cryptography and information security, especially with countries with advanced and modern science. Build a revolutionary, regular, modern cryptography force that meets the nature of the secret science and technology sector, especially in the field of national security.

On September 12, 1945, only 10 days after the Democratic Republic of Vietnam was born, in response to the urgent need to keep secret information transmission on the military communication network to serve the leadership, direction and command of the Party Central Committee, the Government and the army, the Military Cryptography Department - the predecessor of the Vietnam Cipher Industry was established at the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army.

Over 80 years of construction, fighting and growth, the Vietnamese Cryptography industry has overcome countless difficulties and challenges, achieved many outstanding achievements and silent but extremely glorious feats; making important contributions to the struggle for national liberation, building and defending the Fatherland.

With important contributions to the cause of national liberation and in the construction and protection of the Fatherland, the Vietnam Cryptography Industry has been honored to receive the Gold Star Order, the Ho Chi Minh Order and many other noble awards from the Party and State.
