As a remote, disadvantaged commune of Lac Duong district with about 78% of the population being ethnic minorities, people's lives mainly depend on agriculture and forest management and protection contracts. However, with the efforts, solidarity, joint efforts, and unanimity of the Party Committee, government, and people of Da Nhim commune throughout the journey of building a new rural area, in 2016 Da Nhim was recognized as meeting the new rural standards. This is also the first commune of Lac Duong district to reach the new rural area with the joint efforts of the people.

“When reaching the new rural commune standard, most of the infrastructure, especially the traffic infrastructure of Da Nhim commune, has been solidified, but to meet the requirements of the advanced new rural commune, these roads need to be wider and more beautiful. Therefore, the commune has promoted and mobilized people to continue donating land, expanding inter-village roads and has received high consensus and support from the people with the spirit of “The State and the People work together”.

The Party Committee and the communal government have focused on leading, directing, and implementing the guiding documents of the Central, the province, and the district; perfecting and assigning specific tasks to each member of the Steering Committee for New Rural Construction of the commune. Along with that, the organization reviewed and evaluated the achieved criteria, developed plans and solutions to implement the unachieved criteria, and assigned the People's Committee of the commune to develop a roadmap for implementation. Based on the contents, select easy tasks first, difficult tasks later, implement democracy, publicity, transparency, and continue to promote people's strength in building advanced new rural areas," said Mr. Trinh Xuan Tu - Secretary of the Party Committee of Da Nhim commune.

Since achieving the NTM standards, Da Nhim has continuously strived to maintain and promote the quality of the criteria for building an advanced NTM commune and has just been recognized as an advanced NTM commune in 2024, according to Decision 1281/QD-UBND, dated June 18, 2025 of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee.

In Da Nhim today, the impressive highlight is the significant change in the rural traffic system. Thanks to the consensus of the people, the traffic system here has not only been expanded and solidified but also raised to a higher level, that is: there are trees, lighting systems on both sides of the road, many roads are planned modernly to meet urban road standards, creating a new look for the countryside "bright, green, clean, beautiful".

The whole commune has 3 schools at 4 levels, from kindergarten to high school, all meeting the standards of facilities, of which 2 schools meet national standards at level 1 and 2. Every year, the rate of cultural families reaches 93% - 95%; 5/5 villages are recognized as meeting cultural standards, achieving typical residential areas; 4/5 villages achieving model residential areas; the rate of people participating in health insurance reaches 95%; the rate of households using the national grid electricity reaches 100%; Nearly 80% of households use clean water... "The total funding resources for implementing the advanced rural construction program in Da Nhim commune in the period of 2017 - 2024 is more than 140,451 million VND, of which the mobilized resources from people and businesses account for about 10%, thereby contributing significantly to promoting socio-economic development, poverty reduction, and improving people's lives", Ms. Ko Sa K'Kim - Chairman of Da Nhim Commune People's Committee shared.

As a locality where people mainly produce agriculture, Da Nhim commune has focused on directing propaganda and mobilizing people to promote the transformation of crop and livestock structure towards commodities, applying high-tech agriculture in production; at the same time, shifting from traditional production to safe and sustainable production, aiming to create clean, high-quality agricultural products suitable for current market consumption trends. Thanks to that, from a purely agricultural area, agricultural production is still backward, fragmented and small, mainly monoculture coffee, up to now, Da Nhim has formed a high-tech agricultural production area, a safe vegetable production area in Da Tro, Lieng Bong, Da Ra Hoa villages focusing on key crops with high economic value such as: vegetables, flowers, strawberries, medicinal plants Artichoke, Catimo coffee...; building farms with specialty livestock such as buffalo, yellow cows, black pigs, hybrid wild boars, goats...

Many ethnic minority farmers are increasingly bold in expanding the area of ​​safe vegetable cultivation, being granted growing area codes, and being granted production certificates that meet Vietgap and organic standards. Thanks to that, the value of cultivation has continuously increased over the years. By 2024, the commune had developed 4 OCOP products with 3 stars or higher; the average income per capita reached 61.4 million VND/person/year; the poverty rate decreased to 0.3%. Notably, there are no more households living in temporary or dilapidated houses in the commune. Many solid high-rise buildings have been built, not only that, people also pay attention to creating landscapes for their houses by planting flowers, trees and regularly cleaning their houses, village roads, and alleys. A fresh, beautiful, and peaceful countryside gradually appears, each person here truly feels happy and excited when witnessing the changes every day.

The work of building a strong Party and government, administrative reform, and digital transformation has been promoted. Every year, 99.9% - 100% of administrative procedures under the authority of the commune level are resolved ahead of time and on time; the rate of digitization of administrative procedures reaches 97.6%; the rate of online payment records reaches over 98.64%. Continuously from 2016 to 2024, the Party Committee of Da Nhim commune has been classified by the Lac Duong District Party Committee as having fulfilled its tasks well. In particular, in 2017 and 2023, it was classified as having fulfilled its tasks excellently.

It can be affirmed that thanks to the new vitality from the National Target Program on New Rural Construction, Da Nhim has successfully built an advanced New Rural Commune. Since then, not only has it brought a new look to the rural areas, but people's lives have become more and more prosperous and complete thanks to socio-economic development policies that have been applied in accordance with reality, associated with promoting local strengths, making Da Nhim increasingly prosperous, so that when merged with the two communes of Da Sar and Da Chais, it will contribute to building Lac Duong commune to become more and more prosperous.
