Party foreign affairs work continues to be implemented synchronously and effectively in all aspects, achieving many outstanding results.

On the morning of June 19, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Comrade Nguyen Manh Cuong, member of the Party Central Committee, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs chaired a meeting on foreign affairs in the second quarter of 2025, determining the direction for the last 6 months of the year of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Attending the meeting were representatives of leaders of units in the Ministry.

The meeting took place in the context that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has officially merged the Central Foreign Affairs Committee and taken over part of the functions and tasks of the National Assembly's Foreign Affairs Committee, becoming the sole specialized agency for foreign affairs and diplomacy at the central level.

In the first 6 months of the year, the Party's foreign affairs continued to be implemented synchronously and effectively in all aspects, achieving many outstanding results. The Party's foreign affairs continued to play an important role in consolidating political trust, promoting substantive cooperation frameworks with partners, especially neighboring countries China, Laos, Cambodia, major countries, traditional friends and important partners of Vietnam, contributing to enhancing the international position and prestige of our Party and the country in general.

In the context of complex changes in the world and region, the adjustment and supplementation of functions and tasks, the arrangement and transfer of cadres pose new requirements and tasks, but the coordination of foreign affairs activities on the Party channel has been actively and proactively implemented by units in the Ministry, ensuring smoothness and efficiency.

At the meeting, in addition to the important results achieved, units in the Ministry also frankly pointed out a number of difficulties, shortcomings, and limitations in implementing the Party's foreign affairs activities in recent times.

On that basis, the units proposed to promptly promote the improvement and training of party foreign affairs cadres and complete related procedures and instructions.

Concluding the meeting, comrade Nguyen Manh Cuong emphasized the importance of awareness and capacity to effectively implement the Party's foreign affairs, one of the three pillars of foreign affairs work; and commended the efforts of the units.

Comrade Nguyen Manh Cuong requested units to focus on implementing well the directions and tasks of party foreign affairs in the last 6 months of the year, focusing on deploying high-level delegations on party channels, promoting substantive cooperation mechanisms between the Communist Party of Vietnam and political parties, expanding party foreign relations, preparing for the 80th National Day celebration and successfully organizing the 14th Party Congress.
