Speaking at the conference, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said that no matter how much we do, it is not enough compared to the sacrifices of the heroic martyrs. Therefore, we must be determined to "return the names" to the martyrs, and stop when we can no longer do it.
According to Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, DNA identification is not only normal biological information but also the key to unlocking and restoring historical memories for relatives of martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the Fatherland, and is an important tool connecting the past, present, and future.
In the context of a large number of unidentified martyrs, the Prime Minister requested ministries and branches to urgently overcome difficulties according to their functions, tasks and powers, proactively remove obstacles and speed up the implementation of the plan to collect DNA samples of martyrs' relatives in the coming time.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh stated that the work of gratitude is also a command from the heart and morality of the whole society. The application of DNA and gene banks for martyrs is a great scientific step forward, a noble duty, and the sincere sentiment of the entire political system towards those who sacrificed for independence, freedom, prosperity, and happiness, so it must be done with the highest sense of responsibility.
According to a report from the Ministry of Public Security, as of July 20, the Department of Administrative Police for Social Order has completed the analysis of 11,138 DNA samples of martyrs' relatives, and updated the identification database with more than 10,000 DNA data of martyrs' relatives.
