On the afternoon of June 25, the National Assembly voted to pass the Resolution of the National Assembly to elect the Chairman of the National Election Council by electronic voting.
As a result, 435/435 delegates voted in favor, equal to 91% of the total number of National Assembly delegates, equal to 100% of the total number of National Assembly delegates present.
National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man was elected Chairman of the National Election Council.
Previously, with 430/430 delegates participating in the vote in favor (equal to 89.96% of the total number of National Assembly delegates), the National Assembly approved the list to elect Chairman of the National Election Council for comrade Tran Thanh Man, Politburo member, Chairman of the National Assembly.
Consisting of 19 members, it is responsible for organizing the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly, directing and guiding the election of deputies to People's Councils at all levels for the 2026-2031 term in accordance with the law and coordinating with the National Assembly Standing Committee, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, the Government and relevant agencies and organizations to perform assigned tasks.
The National Election Council has its working location at the National Assembly House, Hanoi Capital, has its own seal, operating budget and supporting apparatus.
