Proactively prevent, combat and respond to storm No. 5 (Kajiki)

On August 23, Quang Ninh Provincial Party Committee issued Official Dispatch No. 2971-CV/TU on proactively preventing, combating and responding to storm No. 5 (Kajiki).

According to the forecast of the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, at 4:00 p.m. on August 23, 2025, the center of the storm was located at about 17.6 degrees North latitude; 114.4 degrees East longitude, about 230km East Northeast of Hoang Sa special zone; strongest wind: Level 9-10 (75-102km/h), gusting to level 12; forecast in the next 3 hours, the storm will move in the West Northwest direction, at a speed of about 20-25km/h.

To proactively prevent, combat and respond to storm No. 5 (Kajiki); at the same time, implementing the direction of the Prime Minister in Official Dispatch No. 141/CD-TTg dated August 22, 2025 on requesting ministries, branches and localities to proactively respond to tropical depressions that are likely to strengthen into storms, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee requests Party committees, authorities, the Fatherland Front and socio- political organizations, departments, branches, localities, the coal industry, relevant agencies and units to closely coordinate with the Provincial Civil Defense Command to focus on leading, directing and organizing the serious and complete implementation of the contents of the direction in the Prime Minister's Official Dispatch, focusing on:

Regularly and continuously monitor and update information on storm developments to proactively direct and deploy response work appropriate to specific developments at agencies, units, and localities.

Coastal localities focus on directing and immediately deploying measures and information to organizations, individuals, households and businesses operating at sea to proactively prevent, combat and respond to the storm; call on ships and vehicles operating at sea to return to safe storm shelters.

Proactively arrange forces, materials, and means in areas at high risk of natural disasters (projects in progress, camps, temporary houses, coal mines, mine waste dumps, underground spillways, riverbanks, streams, etc.) to ensure suitability for each locality, commune, ward, and special zone; proactively evacuate people from dangerous areas to ensure safety of life and limit damage to people's property when a situation occurs.
