Proactively supply E10 gasoline to the market

After more than a month of piloting the sale of E10 Ron 95 bio-fuel (E10 gasoline) on the market, the number of customers interested in and using it has increased day by day. This shows that, in addition to price competition, E10 gasoline is also demonstrating its superiority through product quality and environmental friendliness.

In order to proactively provide a stable source of gasoline on the market, businesses have invested in a synchronous blending infrastructure system, rearranged tanks, and updated modern technology to meet the technical standards of this new type of gasoline.

Positive signal

At the petrol station at 194 Thai Thinh Street (Hanoi), there were many customers coming and going, many of whom chose to use E10 gasoline. Ms. Nguyen Thanh Ha, residing in Lane 35, Thai Thinh Street, said that she and her family members often use E5 gasoline, so when she was introduced to E10 gasoline which is of higher quality and environmentally friendly, she felt completely secure in using it.

“This product is not only competitive in price, with a price nearly 400 VND/liter lower than the same type of mineral gasoline, Ron 95, but also contributes to reducing emissions and protecting the environment. Hanoi is very polluted, if many people use this product, it will create positive changes in the future,” Ms. Ha emphasized.

Similarly, Mr. Tran Tuan Anh, residing in the Nga Tu So area (Hanoi) informed that, when it comes to biofuel, many people were skeptical about the quality of the product, and biofuel was even blamed for causing a number of car and motorbike fires. However, through the process of use, it has been shown that this product is of guaranteed quality and does not cause harm to the vehicles and equipment used.

“With the advantage of low price compared to similar products, there are many benefits such as helping the combustion process in the engine to take place more cleanly and thoroughly, thereby reducing environmental pollution. Therefore, this product needs to be promoted so that people know and use it,” Mr. Tuan Anh affirmed.

According to Do Quoc Thai, Head of the 194 Thai Thinh petrol station, on the first day of the pilot sale (August 1), the proportion of E10 gasoline accounted for about 5% of the total sales of the store, but this number has now increased to 15 - 20%. This shows that E10 gasoline is increasingly being interested in and trusted by people. In the coming time, the store will continue to promote and introduce this product to a large number of people and customers, thereby promoting the business efficiency of the enterprise.

Deputy General Director of PetroVietnam Oil Corporation (PVOil) Le Trung Hung said that after the pilot period of selling E10 gasoline in Hanoi and Hai Phong , the unit has recorded many positive information; the work of sourcing goods, blending, transporting and retailing to customers ensures technical standards, all processes are under the control of the company and its affiliated units. The number of customers buying this item remains stable as when buying E5 gasoline.

“From August 1st to now, the E10 gasoline sales volume at stores has reached a rate of more than 15% compared to the total gasoline sales volume (four stores in Hanoi alone have an average output of 10m3/day); the stores have not recorded any feedback on product quality or related issues. That reflects the trust and satisfaction of customers in E10 gasoline products produced and supplied to the market by the unit,” Mr. Hung affirmed.

Stabilize supply

According to Deputy General Director of Vietnam National Petroleum Group ( Petrolimex ) Tran Ngoc Nam, after more than a month of piloting the sale of E10 gasoline at 36 gasoline stores in the old Ho Chi Minh City area, positive signals have been received as sales output has increased day by day, reaching an average output of 40m3/day.

With the goal of becoming Vietnam's leading energy group in green, clean, high-quality, environmentally friendly energy products by 2035, Petrolimex identifies E10 gasoline trading as an important part of the energy transition orientation, therefore, the unit is upgrading its retail infrastructure and expanding its fuel ethanol blending network.

At the same time, strengthen coordination between domestic and foreign ethanol production units to ensure stable supply, serving biofuel business activities in a sustainable manner, following the roadmap set by the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Government.

Along with that, the unit is also researching new energy solutions such as hydrogen and some renewable fuels, in line with the energy transition trend, meeting the requirements of emission reduction.

“Switching to biofuel, specifically E10 gasoline, is not only an inevitable step in protecting the environment, building a green economy, and reducing emissions according to the Government's commitment, but also a strategic solution to ensure energy security, reduce dependence on fossil fuels and promote green consumption,” Mr. Nam emphasized.

Mr. Hung said that on August 28, the unit completed the procedures to blend E10 gasoline at Dung Quat petroleum depot (PVOil Quang Ngai), with a blending capacity of more than 15,000 m3/month. After that, E10 gasoline will be distributed to customers and retail gasoline stores in the central region. When the demand for E10 gasoline increases, the company also has petroleum depots to blend E10 gasoline in Lien Chieu - Da Nang, Chan May - Hue and Vung Ro - Dak Lak, thereby ensuring sufficient supply of E10 gasoline to serve customers in the region and neighboring provinces and cities.

According to Mr. Hung, the pilot sale of E10 gasoline in Da Nang and Quang Ngai demonstrates the process of completing facilities and technical infrastructure as well as affirming the unit's capacity as a key enterprise, ready for the roadmap to deploy E10 gasoline sales nationwide from January 1, 2026. With the capacity of raw materials, warehouses, ports and current facilities and techniques, the unit not only meets the internal needs of the system of nearly 900 gas stations nationwide but is also ready to process and blend for other key points, contributing to ensuring a stable supply of E10 gasoline for the market.
