Music Association: New vision, new melody

There is a language that needs no translation, no borders, and transcends all boundaries of time and space - that is music. In the Viet Bac region - the cradle of a rich revolutionary tradition and a rich cultural identity, the Thai Nguyen - Bac Kan Music Association, after merging, has become a meeting place, a place where many dedicated musicians and artists gather and shine.

Creative collaboration, spreading music

In the national cultural and artistic picture, music always holds a special position, both as a stream that nourishes the soul and as a bridge connecting the past with the present, bringing people closer together through harmony, empathy and connection. The merger of the Thai Nguyen Provincial Music Association and the Bac Kan Provincial Music Association not only aims to streamline the organization and improve operational efficiency, but also stems from the actual needs of the members themselves.

The convergence of musicians from the two provinces has opened up a new creative space, helping members connect and support each other in composing and performing activities, creating conditions to promote music from the Viet Bac region to domestic and international friends - Musician Pham Dinh Chien, Head of the Thai Nguyen Music Association shared.

After the merger, in the new context, members of the two old branches are all enthusiastic about creating new compositions, because both localities have a rich folk music background, with Then, Sli, Luon melodies, lullabies, vi songs... bearing the breath of the mountains and forests. We hope to have many good and unique works sent to music lovers as soon as possible - that is the expectation of musician Quan Anh Tuan - Vice President of Thai Nguyen Music Association.

Among the 12 members of Thai Nguyen, many musicians have made important contributions to the local musical life. Works written about Thai Nguyen are both majestic and lyrical, songs praising the land and people of the old war zone... have become indelible marks in the hearts of the public.

Meanwhile, 6 members from Bac Kan bring inspiration from the cultural identity of ethnic minorities. Then melodies, luon singing... are exploited, arranged and renewed by musicians to better suit the enjoyment needs of music lovers. The presence of Bac Kan musicians in the common "house" helps to expand the scope of composition, while affirming that folk music is a precious material that always needs to be preserved and promoted.

For a sustainable flow of music

Orientation for members to participate in composing in the last months of 2025.

After the merger, Thai Nguyen Music Association has developed a clear action plan: orienting members to participate in the songwriting campaign "Vietnam - Cuba: Forever the song of Friendship", the National Music Festival in 2025 or participating in music composition camps...

In addition, the association also focuses on training, nurturing and encouraging young musical talents to participate in creative activities. Thereby enhancing the position of Viet Bac music on the national art map.

The synergy of the two localities, the enthusiasm and unique colors of the 18 members not only create internal strength but also contribute to affirming the value and identity of Viet Bac music in the context of integration.

Music - with its special spreading power, will continue to accompany the development of the province, becoming a bridge connecting the past - present - future. Thai Nguyen Music Association has been, is and will be the place to "give wings" to new melodies, both carrying folk sounds and keeping up with the contemporary breath, so that the singing of the mountains and forests will forever echo and resonate with the country.
