Infrastructure - the "lever" for development

As a locality with many difficulties and a low starting point, but with a long-term development vision for the 2025-2030 term and beyond to 2035, the Quang Dien Commune Party Committee determined that: Infrastructure is the "key", the "lever" to promote urbanization, expand development space, stimulate trade and improve the quality of life of the people.

Mr. Nguyen Tri Duc - a resident of Quang Dien commune shared: "We feel most clearly that the urban appearance is increasingly improving. Traffic routes such as Provincial Road 19, Provincial Road 4 and Provincial Road 8A are being invested in and upgraded into flood avoidance roads, ensuring safety and creating smooth traffic and trade."

Not stopping at the transportation system, infrastructure serving agricultural and aquatic production is also invested in by Quang Dien in a modern direction, adapting to climate change. Canal systems, pumping stations for internal drainage, high-tech agricultural models... are developed synchronously, creating a foundation for shifting from small-scale production to ecological, circular and sustainable agriculture.

Based on the general planning of Hue City, Quang Dien builds an urban development strategy according to the "dynamic triangle" model, taking Provincial Road 19 as the connecting backbone. The three development spearheads include: Commune center - Southern sub-regional center (old Quang Tho commune) - Eastern sub-regional center (old Quang An commune), forming a balanced and diffuse development structure, opening up regional connectivity with coastal localities such as Phong Quang, Dan Dien, Hoa Chau... This orientation both meets the requirements of socio -economic development and creates conditions for Quang Dien to become a tourism - service connection center of Tam Giang lagoon.

The development direction is established: Taking the commune center as the urban core, as the hub for trade and transit of goods to industrial parks, coastal and lagoon tourist areas; the Southern region aims to build a modern urban area along the Bo River; while the Eastern sub-region develops an ecological urban area - tourism services to diversify the economic structure, creating a driving force for sustainable development.

Diversified resources

The aspiration to become a ward cannot become a reality if we only rely on the State budget. Realizing that, Quang Dien commune has a policy of promoting socialization and diversifying investment resources. The spirit of "State and People working together" has become a consistent motto, aiming to mobilize the participation of enterprises, organizations and individuals to invest in commercial infrastructure, services, education, health care and culture through public-private partnership (PPP) models and other flexible forms of cooperation.

Quang Dien maximizes the support of departments, branches and units of Hue City to invest in key and strategic projects such as: Tam Giang Lagoon Road, Vinh Tu Bridge, Quang Dien - Kim Tra connecting road, parallel route with high-speed railway and resettlement areas serving the North - South railway project. Along with the traffic infrastructure works are the system of cultural institutions, public works, community living spaces... gradually completing the new urban appearance - green, clean, safe.

In the context of widespread digital transformation, localities focus on training and improving the capacity of staff, promoting the application of technology in urban management and public service administration; at the same time, building e-government, service government, taking people's satisfaction as a measure of quality of operations.

“Building a modern urban area does not mean concreting all living spaces, and it is impossible to trade cultural and historical values for rapid development. Clearly identifying that, Quang Dien aims to develop infrastructure while preserving identity and heritage,” affirmed Mr. Nguyen Anh Cau, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Dien Commune.
