According to cybersecurity company Fortinet, Brute Force Attack, or brute force attack, is a technique hackers use to try every password combination until they find the right one. Fortinet describes this method as turning a number lock from “0000” to “9999” until the door swings open.
Thanks to modern computing power, brute force can try millions of combinations in seconds, making weak passwords easy prey. Palo Alto Networks said there are many variations such as dictionary attacks, hybrid attacks or credential stuffing.
The danger is that with just one cracked password, hackers can spread to emails, social networks or bank accounts. Splunk warns that the consequences could include not only lost accounts, but also data breaches and serious financial losses. OWASP experts advise users to set strong passwords, at least 12 characters long, and not reuse them for multiple services.
Multi-factor authentication and false login mitigation mechanisms are important shields to prevent successful brute force attacks. Dear readers, please watch more videos : Many scams from AI technology are on the rise | News 141
