(Dan Tri) - The Ministry of Education and Training has just sent a document to the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, agreeing to the plan for students, staff and teachers to have 9 days off for the 2025 Lunar New Year.
The dispatch, signed by Deputy Minister Hoang Minh Son, basically agreed with the draft dispatch requesting the Prime Minister's opinion on the Lunar New Year holiday schedule and some holidays in 2025 of the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs . Specifically, regarding the Lunar New Year holiday of At Ty 2025 for civil servants and public employees, the Ministry of Education and Training agreed with the proposal of the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs to have a 5-day holiday according to regulations, including 2 days before Tet and 3 days after Tet. Civil servants and public employees will have the Lunar New Year holiday in 2025 from Saturday, January 5, 2025 to Sunday, February 2, 2025 (ie December 26, Giap Thin year to January 5, At Ty year). Thus, with this plan, civil servants and public employees will have 9 days off (including 5 days off for Lunar New Year and 4 days off every week).

Regarding the 2025 National Day holiday for civil servants and public employees, the Ministry of Education and Training agrees with the proposal of a 2-day holiday as prescribed, including September 2 and one day immediately before September 2. Civil servants and public employees will have a 2025 National Day holiday from Saturday, August 30, 2025 to Tuesday, September 2, 2025. With this plan, on the occasion of the 2025 National Day holiday, civil servants and public employees will have 4 consecutive days off (including 2 National Day holidays and 2 weekly days off). Regarding the April 30 and May 1 International Labor Day holidays, the Ministry of Education and Training agrees with the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs to swap working days from Friday (May 2, 2025) to Saturday (April 26, 2025) so that civil servants and public employees can have a 5-day holiday for the April 30 Victory Day and May 1 International Labor Day in 2025, from Wednesday, April 30, 2025 to Sunday, May 4, 2025 (working on Saturday, April 26, 2025). Previously, some provinces and cities announced the Lunar New Year holiday schedule for 2025. According to the Lunar New Year holiday schedule specified in the 2024-2025 school year schedule issued by the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, this school year, more than 1.7 million preschool children and students from primary to high school in Ho Chi Minh City will have the Lunar New Year holiday starting from January 25, 2025 (ie the 26th day of the 12th lunar month) to February 2, 2025 (ie the 5th day of the 1st lunar month). Based on the above Lunar New Year holiday schedule, including weekends before and after the prescribed time, students in Ho Chi Minh City will have a total of 9 days off. In Yen Bai, the Lunar New Year holiday for students lasts 14 days, from January 22, 2025 to February 4, 2025 (from December 23, Giap Thin year to January 7, At Ty year). Holidays and annual leave: Implemented according to current regulations and the exchange of holidays according to State regulations. In Ba Ria - Vung Tau , according to the 2024 - 2025 school year plan, schools will have Lunar New Year holidays starting from January 25, 2025 (December 26) to February 6, 2025 (January 9).
