Ahead of Apple's Awe Drop event, a lot of leaked information about the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max has appeared. However, details about the product's rear design are still a big mystery.

In recent days, sources have made two opposing predictions. They all agree that the camera cluster of the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max will change, expanding into a strip running across the entire upper part of the back. The difference lies in the design material. Some leaked sources say that Apple will keep the back completely glass like the iPhone 16 Pro. On the contrary, some sources say that the company may apply a two-tone design, combining aluminum and glass, and arranging a separate area for MagSafe.

Previously, the two-tone option was seen as more of a rendering than an actual product. However, Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman has a different opinion. In a recent report, he said that the upcoming high-end models will have a completely new back, giving a different look to the camera area.

According to Mark Gurman, the back of the iPhone 17 Pro will be divided into two distinct areas. Specifically, the upper third is a horizontal camera strip, while the lower two-thirds are redesigned and also act as a wireless charging area. This description is consistent with the leaked image of an aluminum and glass design, instead of the current all-glass back.

If this information is accurate, Apple could bring the biggest change to the iPhone Pro back in years. Analysts say this could be a stepping stone before Apple experiments with an all-glass design in later generations, in the context that this technology giant increasingly uses more metal on the Pro line.

Aside from aesthetics, this change could also help reduce the weight of the device. The switch from titanium and glass to aluminum and less glass would make the iPhone 17 Pro significantly lighter than its predecessors. This could be the most noticeable difference for users.
