The race to sign Nico Williams is getting more exciting than ever as Bayern Munich react strongly.
According to sources from SkySports and L'Equipe, the German football champions are willing to pay a salary of more than 12 million euros per season for the Bilbao star.

Bayern are ready to put Williams in the second highest paid group in the team – around 15-19 million euros (equal to Gnabry, Coman, Musiala, Mueller).
The offer that Bayern made is far beyond Barcelona's current ability to pay ( Barca promised 12 million euros , but it is difficult to reach this figure due to the salary limit applied by La Liga).
In the context of financial instability, Barca, although really wanting Nico, is facing many difficulties in ensuring regulations on salary funds, as well as registering players in La Liga.
Bayern have a clear advantage in terms of financial resources. With a large budget and the ambition to rebuild the squad for the long term, the Bavarian club is willing to spend a lot to convince both Nico and Bilbao.
After parting ways with Leroy Sane, while Mueller also left the team after the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, Bayern are even more determined to recruit Williams.
Furthermore, the Bundesliga has its own appeal: Bayern are regulars in the Champions League and are top contenders in every competition they compete in.
However, all decisions now belong to the EURO 2024 champion personally. According to reputable sources, Nico Williams still prioritizes waiting for the Catalan club.
Playing in La Liga, with close friends like Lamine Yamal and Pedri, under the guidance of Hansi Flick, is an attractive factor for him.
Besides, Nico has not had any personal negotiations with Bayern, showing certain hesitation.
On Barcelona's side, Director of Sports Deco admitted that he has not officially discussed the matter with Bilbao, but the club is looking for a solution to avoid financial constraints.
Deco’s solution is to pay the transfer fee in installments, in which case Barca would have to accept a figure exceeding the €58 million that Williams’ contract with Bilbao required to break his contract.
If Barca is slow in negotiations, it is possible that Nico Williams will change his attitude and accept an economically attractive offer from Bayern Munich.
