Arrested woman who brazenly sold public land and appropriated money

On the afternoon of October 17, the Investigation Police Agency of Hoa Vang District Police issued a decision to prosecute the case, prosecute the accused, and detain Nguyen Thuy Ha (born in 1972, residing in Group 20, Hoa Tho Tay Ward, Cam Le, Da Nang City) for the act of "Fraudulent appropriation of property".

Initial investigation results determined that in November 2022, Nguyen Thuy Ha called Mr. Nguyen Van Minh to ask if anyone needed to buy land in Hoa Ninh 2 Resettlement Area, Hoa Vang, Da Nang, to introduce them to Ha. Then Ha sent Mr. Minh the land plot for sale, lot number 21, subdivision B2-08, Hoa Ninh 2 Resettlement Area.

Mr. Minh introduced this plot of land to Mr. Do Dinh Trung, but Mr. Trung requested to meet the landowner to discuss specifically before agreeing on whether to buy or not.

On November 25, 2022, Ha met Mr. Trung to negotiate the sale. Ha said that this land belongs to her family and is currently waiting for the land receipt.

The police agency served the decisions to prosecute and detain Nguyen Thuy Ha.

Trusting, Mr. Trung agreed to buy the land for 1 billion VND, deposited 200 million VND, and promised to notarize and pay the remaining amount on February 25, 2023 after receiving the land use rights certificate.

On the appointed day, Mr. Trung called repeatedly to complete the name change procedure, but Ha did not pick up the phone or reply to text messages.

Suspicious, Mr. Trung went to the Land Clearance Board of Hoa Vang district to find out information and learned that land lot number 21, subdivision B2-08, Hoa Ninh 2 Resettlement Area did not belong to Ha, so he filed a complaint against Ha to the Hoa Vang district police agency.

According to the police investigation, the above land plot was arranged by the Hoa Vang District Land Clearance Board for Mr. Luong Van Vinh (residing in Hoa Ninh commune).

Working with the police, Ha confessed that his family did not have resettlement land but only heard and saw information from the project, so he wrote down the land lot number and then tricked Mr. Trung into selling it.

The case is being further investigated by the Investigation Police Agency of Hoa Vang District Police, and Nguyen Thuy Ha will be handled according to the law.
