Schedule of Vietnam women's volleyball team at the 2025 world championship:

20:30 August 23: Vietnam - Poland

17:00 August 25: Vietnam - Germany

17:00 August 27: Vietnam - Kenya

In the opening match of the Women's Volleyball World Cup, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team will face Poland at 8:30 p.m. on August 23. This is a big challenge for Coach Tuan Kiet's team because the Polish women's volleyball team is ranked 3rd in the world (after Brazil and Italy).

Before this match, Polish press also studied the Vietnamese women's volleyball team quite thoroughly. Strefa Siatkowki newspaper had a rather long analysis about coach Tuan Kiet's team.

This newspaper analyzed: “The 2025 Women's Volleyball World Championship is approaching very soon. This is an opportunity to analyze the strength of the opponents in the same group as the Polish team. Among them, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team is a rather unfamiliar opponent.

This is the first time the Vietnamese girls have entered the world women's volleyball arena. The team is currently ranked 22nd in the FIVB rankings. Recently, they have won consecutive regional titles, helping them to make significant progress. Remember, at the beginning of 2025, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team was only ranked 32nd.

The last time Vietnam was deducted points in the FIVB rankings was in June 2024, and since then, they have been winning continuously. However, compared to Thailand, a team in Southeast Asia ranked one place higher, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team still has very limited experience in international competition. Therefore, this year's world championship will be a historic milestone, promising to create great momentum for the future development of Vietnamese volleyball.

The Vietnam Volleyball Federation believes that the Vietnamese women's volleyball team's participation in the world's most prestigious tournament for the first time is a source of great pride. This is a historic moment, opening a new chapter for the country's volleyball.

Up to now, Vietnam has won 41 championships in official tournaments, most of which are at VTV Cup, a tournament initiated by the Vietnam Volleyball Federation, with 17 championships (8 times runner-up, 3 times third place).

Their other notable achievements come in tournaments such as the SEA Games and the SEA V-League (Southeast Asian women's volleyball tournament). One of the memorable milestones of Vietnamese women's volleyball is the bronze medal at the 2024 Challenger Cup (FIVB tournament). In addition, in the past 3 years, Vietnamese women's volleyball has also dominated the AVC Women's Volleyball Nations Cup with 3 consecutive championships.

Regardless, this rookie team is still considered an interesting unknown. Before the world championship, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team underwent a series of quality tests, including a victory over Thailand. Right before the tournament, they also won 4-0 against Kenya.
