According to Mr. Vuong Quoc Tuan, alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Bac Ninh province, the ranking of Niem Xa pagoda as a provincial relic is the result of a process of research, survey, and elaborate scientific documentation from specialized departments and branches.
This is not only a recognition of historical and religious values but also affirms the role of Niem Xa Pagoda in the spiritual life of the community. Preserving and promoting the value of relics is a common responsibility of the whole society, contributing to preserving cultural heritage,educating traditions and developing local tourism.
Mr. Ta Dang Doan, Member of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, Secretary of the Bac Ninh City Party Committee, said that Niem Xa Pagoda was built during the Nguyen Dynasty and has undergone many renovations. In 2002, due to severe deterioration of the structures, the pagoda was rebuilt on the old foundation with a traditional appearance but on a larger scale, spacious and majestic.
Niem Xa Pagoda is located on an area of 1,918.7m2, the land has a land use right certificate. The pagoda is located next to the communal house, the west side borders Niem Xa communal house, the remaining sides border the residential area. The overall architectural works and the newly renovated campus are spacious, clean and beautiful.
The pagoda currently has the following structures: Tam Bao, To House, Mau House. Tam Bao building has Dinh-shaped architecture, including 7-compartment front hall, 3-compartment upper hall, concrete frame, roof truss system with upper gong-shaped seats, lower seven-porch seats. Doors are opened in the 5 front compartments facing the West in the style of a panel door. The pagoda has a closed-end, throne-shaped architecture. The roof is covered with tiles, on top of which is the name of the pagoda (Linh Quang Tu) in Chinese characters.
Niem Xa Pagoda is a religious building worshiping Buddha of the local people. The pagoda has a protective wall, the land has a certificate of protection to avoid encroachment. In the pagoda, the abbot, the local government and people always care, protect, preserve and embellish the pagoda to make it more spacious and beautiful. Religious activities are carried out well. The system of Buddha statues and worship objects are arranged in the traditional way.
