8 countries have Comprehensive Strategic Partnership with Vietnam

On the occasion of the official visit to the French Republic by General Secretary and President To Lam, on October 7, 2024, Vietnam and France issued a joint statement on upgrading their relationship to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.

With this decision, France becomes the first country in the EU to have a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership with Vietnam.

As of October 2024, Vietnam has comprehensive strategic partnerships with 8 countries, including China (2008), the Russian Federation (2012), India (2016), South Korea (2022), the United States (September 2023), Japan (November 2023), Australia (March 2024) and France (October 2024)./.
