The Spring Concert “Spring Fire” is a special program of the Sun Symphony Orchestra (SSO) to welcome the new year 2024, and is also the first international concert to “break ground” at the Hoan Kiem Opera House - one of the top 10 best opera houses in the world voted by the 10best website of the World Travel Awards (WTA).

The program promises to be a particularly impressive music night, with the first presence in Vietnam of the world's leading baritone singer Vladislav Sulimsky from the Mariinsky Theater (Saint Petersburg).

In recent years, Vladislav Sulimsky has emerged as a world-leading baritone artist. Vladislav Sulimsky has won many prestigious awards at international opera competitions such as: First Prize at the Rimsky-Korskov International Festival in Saint-Petersburg, Second Prize at the Elena Obraztsova International Festival in 2006, First Prize at the Giacomo Lauri-Volpi International Festival in 2010 and was nominated for a Grammy Award for the recording of The Nose with Valery Gergiev in 2009...

Vladislav Sulimsky performed many leading roles on the world's most magnificent opera stages.

The famous singer Vladislav Sulimsky even conquered the world's most demanding music critics with his glowing praise: " Even when you close your eyes and listen to him sing, in the thick darkness of the stage, although you can hardly see the faces of the artists, you still feel the radiance of passion, thirst for power, fear, obsession and despair in each of his words" and at the climax, "the audience is forced to hold their breath so as not to miss one of the beautiful notes " - music critic Mari Kozlova praised.

Performing at the Ho Guom Theater on the evening of January 20, 2024, Vladislav Sulimsky and the Sun Symphony Orchestra will perform beautiful songs inspired by the Bible - Biblical Songs by composer Antonín Dvořák. These promise to be completely intense transformations into characters, bringing the audience special emotional and sublime musical experiences.

The Spring Fire concert will also feature Dvořák's famous masterpieces Carnival Overture and Symphony No. 9 “From the New World”, which the composer composed at the same time as Biblical Songs, representing the period when many of his greatest masterpieces were created.

Under the talented direction of Conductor Olivier Ochanine and the Sun Symphony Orchestra, it promises to revive the atmosphere of 1893 when the audience at Carnegie Hall overflowed onto the sidewalks, where people huddled in the rain to hear the first performance of Symphony No. 9 “From the New World”.

The score was so impressive that the New York Evening Post later exclaimed: “ Anyone who hears it cannot deny that it is the greatest symphonic work ever composed in this country .”

The special companion of the international golden opera singer at the Spring Fire Concert is the talented Vietnamese opera singer, artist Dao To Loan. She is a versatile soprano from the Vietnam National Opera and Ballet, who can perform both Western classical music and traditional Vietnamese music.

To Loan has performed in many countries around the world such as Russia, Germany, France, Austria, Sweden, Denmark, Thailand, Singapore, Laos... At the spring concert "Spring Fire", Dao To Loan will perform a special work by musician Van Cao.

Great music was once again honored in its cathedral, and what was more wonderful was the message that Conductor Olivier Ochanine and the artists of the Sun Symphony Orchestra conveyed to the public without any words.

That is the message about the eternal vitality of classical music, of the pinnacle of art that will always shine like the theme of the program "Spring Fire".
