World gold price increases, domestic price regains 121 million VND mark

(GLO)- On July 19, despite the high USD, the world gold price continued to increase by nearly 20 USD. Meanwhile, the domestic gold market also returned to the 121 million VND/tael mark, an increase of 400,000 VND compared to yesterday morning.

At the end of the week, the domestic gold bar price increased again. Many gold, silver and gemstone businesses such as Bao Tin Minh Chau, PNJ, DOJI , SJC are listing at 119.5-121 million VND/tael, the difference between buying and selling is 1.5 million VND, lower than last week. This difference has also been shortened by Mi Hong gold business, currently buying at 119.8 million VND, a difference of 1.2 million VND/tael. Phu Quy gold business alone is listing at 118.7-121 million VND/tael, the buying price is lower than the general level.

Domestic gold ring prices have also increased again. In particular, Mi Hong gold enterprise is listing two-way buying and selling prices at 115.2-116.7 million VND/tael; Bao Tin Minh Chau is listing prices at 116.1-119.1 million VND/tael; Phu Quy is trading at 114.8-117.8 million VND/tael; DOJI is listing prices at 115.9-118.4 million VND/tael.

Although not as volatile as gold bars, the price of gold rings still shows an upward trend, suitable for the need to store physical gold in the middle class segment and those who prefer high-value gold jewelry.

The world gold price today, July 19, recorded a sharp increase, surpassing the 3,350 USD/ounce mark in the context of a weakening USD, increasing geopolitical factors and expectations that the US Federal Reserve (Fed) will adjust monetary policy in the near future.

According to Kitco, at 4:30 a.m. on July 19, Vietnam time, the spot gold price on the world market reached 3,352.63 USD/ounce, up 19.21 USD/ounce compared to the previous session, equivalent to an increase of 0.58%.

Meanwhile, US gold futures also increased by 0.5% to $3,360.50/ounce.

If converted at Vietcombank exchange rate (26,340 VND/USD), the world gold price is equivalent to about 109.93 million VND/tael (excluding taxes and fees).

By mid-2025, gold prices had increased by 26%, an impressive growth rate in the context of a volatile global economy. Notably, in the first 6 months of the year alone, gold prices broke records 26 times, while in the whole of 2024 there were only 40 times. This partly reflects the trend of money flowing into safe-haven assets.
