Who is the youngest candidate for professor of Pharmacy?

According to the list of candidates proposed by the Council of Professors of the institution to be considered for recognition of meeting the standards for the title of professor and associate professor in 2025, announced by the State Council of Professors, the Pharmacy Department has 21 candidates, including 3 professor candidates and 18 associate professor candidates.

The youngest professor candidate in Pharmacy this year is Associate Professor, Dr. Bui Thanh Tung, Deputy Head of Pharmacy Faculty, University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Vietnam National University, Hanoi .

Associate Professor, Dr. Bui Thanh Tung was born in 1982, in Yen Quang, Y Yen, Nam Dinh province (old). He graduated with a bachelor's degree in Pharmacy from the Institute of Pharmacy and Food, University of Havana, Cuba in 2007. In 2011, he received a master's degree in Pharmacy, specializing in Medicinal Materials from Chosun University, Korea.

In 2014, he was awarded a PhD in Pharmacy, specializing in Pharmacology from the University of Sevilla, Spain. In 2018, he was appointed Associate Professor of Pharmacy.

Associate Professor, Dr. Bui Thanh Tung used to be a researcher at the Pharmacology Department, Central Institute for Drug Control; a researcher at Traphaco Company, Hanoi; a lecturer at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy - Vietnam National University, Hanoi. He is currently the Deputy Head of the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Vietnam National University, Hanoi.

The two main research directions of Associate Professor, Dr. Bui Thanh Tung include: Research on evaluating the effects, mechanisms of action and toxicity at the molecular level of medicinal herbs and natural compounds; Research on virtual screening of compounds with pharmacological effects, pharmacokinetic characteristics and low toxicity to develop drugs from nature.

Associate Professor, Dr. Bui Thanh Tung has published 149 scientific articles, including 49 scientific articles in prestigious international journals.

Associate Professor, Dr. Bui Thanh Tung has been granted 11 patents for inventions and utility solutions. In addition to Associate Professor Dr. Bui Thanh Tung, the remaining two candidates for the position of professor of Pharmacy in 2025 are Associate Professor Dr. Do Thi Ha, born in 1976, Deputy Director of the Institute of Medicinal Materials, Ministry of Health and Associate Professor Dr. Tran Viet Hung, born in 1972, Director of the Institute of Drug Testing in Ho Chi Minh City.

This year, the number of candidates requesting recognition for the title of professor and associate professor is 933, a sharp increase compared to 2024.

Of the 933 candidates, 89 candidates requested to be considered for recognition as professors and 844 candidates requested to be considered for recognition as associate professors. This list does not include candidates from the two Councils of Professors of Security Science and Military Science.

Accordingly, all 26 sectors/interdisciplinary sectors have candidates. In 2024, the Culture sector has "no" candidates participating in the proposal for review.
