(Quang Ngai Newspaper) - The Notary Law 2024 officially takes effect from July 1, 2025 with many new contents.

Notably, the regulation that the person going to notarize must take a photo at the time of signing the document, under the direct witness of the notary. Specifically, Clause 1, Article 50 of the 2024 Notary Law stipulates:

The person requesting notarization, the witness, and the interpreter must sign each page of the transaction in the direct presence of the notary, except in the case specified in Clause 2 of this Article and in the case where the person requesting notarization cannot sign or fingerprint. The signing of electronic notarized documents shall be carried out in accordance with Government regulations.

The signing of notarized documents in the presence of a notary must be photographed and stored in the notarized records.
